Service Description

From vaccination (typically 12 weeks) to 20 weeks old. Our Puppy Foundations programme has been carefully designed to help you build a strong, trusting relationship with your puppy from the very beginning, using kind, reward-based training methods that are backed by modern behavioural science. This isn’t just about teaching your puppy to sit. It’s about giving you the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to raise a happy, confident companion that can cope with the real world. Our classes are based on the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) Easy Peasy Puppy programme. As a qualified and registered IMDT Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor, I continually expand my knowledge through ongoing professional development (CPD) to ensure you receive the most up-to-date, ethical and effective training methods. Alongside Flintshire Dog Training, I also proudly own and run Equipet Care, providing trusted pet care services throughout the local area. What your puppy will learn Throughout our 6-week programme, you’ll work through the essential foundations every puppy needs, including: ● Loose lead walking foundations ● Recall foundations ● Engagement and focus around distractions ● Basic life skills and cues ● Handling and cooperative care for vet and grooming visits ● Settling and relaxation training ● Confidence building exercises ● Appropriate puppy-to-puppy interactions ● Positive owner-to-puppy play and relationship building ● Socialisation done properly – what it really means (and what it doesn’t!) ● Preventing common unwanted behaviours before they become habits Alongside practical training, every class includes educational discussions, helpful tips, troubleshooting and advice to help you navigate puppyhood with confidence. Our aim is not just to train puppies—we educate owners too. Why these skills matter The experiences your puppy has during their early months can shape their behaviour for years to come. By investing in early training, you’ll be helping your puppy develop into a confident, well-mannered and resilient dog while strengthening the bond between you both. Our classes are designed to help you: ● Build a lifelong partnership with your puppy ● Improve communication and understanding ● Develop calmness and confidence ● Create reliable foundations before problem behaviours develop ● Learn how dogs communicate Access to Whatsapp group
